We want to thank everyone who came out and braved the "not so great weather" and helped make another successful weekend.
So to all the jumpers who made the trek & waited out the weather, the first time Jumpers who waited out the weather holds to do their tandems, and the Organizers who took so much of their time preparing only to be foiled by Mother Nature (with her rain, hail, rain, cloud, rain, wind, rain, sun) - - - - "Thank you".
While the weather did not cooperate (anywhere in the province) we did manage to get 14 Otter loads (289 jumps) and 5 more Cessna loads off the ground.
We really want to thank some other people like:
Lee Bibby: For organizing a Canopy Formation Camp - even though they weren't able to do any jumps, Lee still did a great classroom session that was enjoyed by all who attended. Lee put a lot of preparation time into this and it was greatly appreciated.
Gilles Dutrisac: For organizing the "Belly Flyers" giving people a chance to try out new skills & refresh old ones. A number of people that were on these jumps are heading to the Canadian Record Jumps coming up in June in Burnaby, so the practice was much appreciated. Gilles sat at the back of the Otter (yes it was very cold & I think he has one now) every load, so once again - Many Thanks
François Hamel: For looking after and organizing a Freefly Festival which once again due to bad weather wasn't always as festive as it should have been. Frank did organize some great freefly jumps including some head down multipoint sequential dives and we did see that tube as well -VERY COOL
Scott Simpson and Jan: For bringing Sunday nights dinner. Scott once again brought enough burgers and ice cream to feed everyone there and still have left over's - After a long cold couple days, BBQ 'd burgers tasted REAL GOOD!!!!
Nelson, Julie, Melanie: A boogie can't happen without the people working behind the desk at manifest, when the plane was flying, these three kept things going smooth making sure anyone who wanted on the plane, got on the plane.
Chris Diggins (the illustrious Otter Pilot): For getting us up in the air whenever it was possible. Having a pilot like Chris (who is also a jumper) makes things much easier on the people in the back of the plane. We hope to see Chris back in July when it will be sunny and warm.....promise.
Please check the web site for pictures of from the May long weekend which should be up soon, and for future events and happenings.
We hope to see everyone back real soon, but especially for the July 1st Otter Weekend.
