Important First Jump Information
Reservations: First Jumps are available by appointment only, therefore, pre-registration is required along with a deposit. For regular weekends, the amount of the deposit will be $50.00 (per person). For weekdays and/or special Turbine Tradition weekends, the deposit required will be $100.00 (per person). Reservations will be accepted up to two days prior to the date of the proposed jump, providing that there are still slots available. No one is considered registered for a first jump until a deposit has been made.
Jump Day Registration It is recommended that you arrive early to sign in prior to your scheduled pre-jump briefings and training sessions which must begin on time. Please DO NOT be late. We operate on a first signed in - first jump basis when more than one person is scheduled for a particular time.
Identification and age A valid photo ID (driver's licence or Provincial/State ID) is required to sign up for a jump. You must also be 18 years of age. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Pre-Jump Briefings & Training Sessions Once a group or individual has pre-registered and paid their deposit" The pre-jump briefing and training session will be conducted on the agreed upon date and time - regardless of the weather conditions. You must attend scheduled pre-jump briefings (rain or shine) to avoid forfeiture of any deposit. Please do not phone us regarding the weather on the day of your jump. We do not cancel jumps in advance because of weather forecasts. The weather in Gananoque can also be quite different than it is where you live.
Time Required Although pre-jump
briefings and training sessions do not take very long, please be prepared to spend a good part of the day
at the Centre. Factors such as the weather, how busy we happen to be and the
time of day that your jump is scheduled can play a part in the length of your
stay. Ideally though, the entire process should take no more than half a day. It has been proven that the more time one spends at the dropzone, the more stress can be relieved! Especially if you choose to stick around until after sunset, at which time everyone is invited to gather around the campfire and share the day's incredible experiences!
What to Wear Dress comfortably, keeping the temperature in mind. Remember we live in Canada, so in the cooler months a pair of gloves are a must. Folks may find loose fitting pants, as opposed to tight fitting Jeans, much more comfortable to jump in. Flexibility is important. Shorts are okay too. Gym shoes are ideal but hiking boots are fine as well, as long as they don't have speed laces or open clips on them. No Tevas, sandals, tongs, cowboy boots or work boots please. You may wear them during the day but bring a pair of gym shoes to wear on the jump.
As previously explained (see top of page), a complete video package is available as an option (circumstances permitting), it is best to make arrangements when pre-registering. Your video will be put onto a DVD and packaged in a full sleeve DVD case so you can easily find it (that's important because you will want to show your friends and family over and over again. Please see above price list.
Refunds Individuals must cancel their reservations no less than two days in advance of their scheduled jump date in order to obtain a full refund of their deposit. If, for whatever reason, you cannot jump on the same day after going through the pre-jump briefing and training session, you will be issued a raincheck, good for one year. If you choose to obtain a refund, instead of a raincheck, a $10.00 training fee will be charged. No-shows will forfeit their deposits. Methods of Payment Cash, NO personal cheques will be accepted unless previously arranged. Deposits may be made in one of the following ways: Cash, Visa or MasterCard - Certified Cheque or Money Order A bank deposit made from a branch of the TD Canada Trust in your town or city to the Gananoque Sport Parachuting Centre's branch. Key Bank for our American customers. Account numbers available upon request. Phone (613) 382-5114 or e-mail to skydivegan@bellnet.ca Important : Those making deposits via the bank method please obtain a receipt from the bank. It is also imperative that you bring the receipt with you on the day of your jump. It's our only way of establishing who actually made the deposit to our account.
