The minimum age to make a skydive is 18 years old. Skydive Gananoque will not take anyone under the age of 18 even with parents consent. There is however NO limit the other way, we have had many 80 years and up join us for a real thrill.
For safety reasons, we do have a limit of 220 lbs, although a height to weight ratio must also be taken into consideration. This is due to weight limitations in respect to the parachutes, landing conditions etc. We do reserve the right to refuse any person who does not appear to be in reasonable physical condition for their own safety. Please feel free to contact us directly at 613-382-5114 if you have any further questions or concerns in this respect.
We want you to be comfortable during your visit, below is a list of things we would recommend to wear for your Tandem Skydive. We will provide you with a jump suit (although you do not have to wear it if you don't want to), Goggles etc.
Clothing: It's best to wear loose fitting clothing - T-Shirt, Sweat Shirt, Track pants, shorts etc. - The number of layers will depend on the weather, but dress comfortably. We will provide you with a jump suit and goggles
Footwear: regular gym shoes are ideal, or hiking boots as long as they do not have any open clips (speed laces), or steel toes
Please No: Tight Fitting Jeans (they are uncomfortable and restrict mobility in the plane) - Skirts or Dresses - Cowboy Boots, Work Boots or Sandals.
Note: Please ensure you have some place secure to store your watches, jewelry and other valuables. We cannot be responsible for items lost or stolen.
I wear glasses - contacts, is this a problem?
This is not a problem at all - Just make sure you let your tandem instructor know. We will provide you with goggles to fit over your glasses. If you have contacts, we will just make sure your goggles are on good and tight.
Can my friends come along for support?
The more the merrier - Cheering sections are quite fun to have around. If they are coming along for moral support only (not also making a skydive), your friends can even be waiting for you in the landing area to welcome you back down. Make sure they have a camera to catch the smile on your face.
This is a big question - At Skydive Gananoque we believe Tandem skydiving is today's best method of introducing newcomers to the sport of skydiving. It is easily available to anyone who'd like to try skydiving just once, or those who wish to pursue this exciting sport click here for more information.
As you will find in any sport or activity, there are risks involved when you jump out of an airplane. We use state of the art, highly maintained tandem gear, and our instructors are professionally trained. This helps to ensure the safest possible atmosphere during your visit.
Please call us directly at 613-382-5114 for more information. We want to ensure you are completely comfortable and receive all the information you need to make the decision to join us for a skydive.
Can I do more than one jump on the same day?
We would love it if you did. This may however be dependent on previous bookings or other time constraints. Suffice it to say, if you want to jump again, we will make every effort to make sure you do. Click For Pricing On Subsequent Jumps
After my first skydive, what is involved in pursuing the sport?
Many people make their first skydive, then another, and another, and so on. If you want to take up the sport and become a licensed skydiver, we can make that happen. Click Here For Info - Call us directly - Speak to us in person at the airport
This comes back to our belief that Tandem is the most enjoyable and safest way to make your first skydive. We made a conscious decision to run only one program (tandem) due to the safety benefits for all involved. If there is a problem in the air, you have an experienced instructor to deal with it. By the time you start skydiving on your own (graduated from our Freefall Program) you are already more experienced then most.
Besides, on a Tandem Skydive you will get approximately 30 seconds of freefall (not available in older, more traditional courses) and a longer parachute ride then on the traditional courses, and this is all with a much shorter training period. And lets not forget, once the parachute opens, you have someone to talk to on the way down.
How long does the whole process take?
From the time you start getting trained to the time you are back on the ground, the whole process takes approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours. This includes a 20 to 30 minute plane ride. However, you should be prepared for it to take a little longer, dependent on weather and other circumstances.
